Farmhouse Modernisation and Extension

In this project, we worked with a young couple seeking to restore a family home. The original cottage dates back to 1878 and the site has been in the family for hundreds of years. While the original footprint of the cottage remains relatively untouched, work on extending the home takes place to the rear. The exterior timber cladding of the extension compliments the original stone facade and blends into the landscape. The large windows give way to unobstructed views of the Westmeath countryside. The angular design of the building means that the view is exploited at every point in the house.
